How do i Winterize my Trailer: (1) Locate your water heater on the ouside of your trailer. Release the pressure by pulling the handle on the pressure release valve. Then remove the Plug (usually 1" 1/16 socket.) (2) Go inside the trailer, and locate the rear of your water heater, you will generally have 3 shut off valves,(most newer trailers have only 1), turn the top and bottom valves off, (this stops water from entering the water heater). turn the center one on. (if you dont have these valves, you may need a by-pass kit) (3) locate your water pump, (if you dont know where it is, just turn it on and listen for it to find it.) (4) Depending on what you have, (as some pumps already have an extra line attached for winterization), remove the inlet line, and attach a seperate line with a 3' hose, longer if needed, stick the end of the hose in a gallon of RV Anti-freeze, and turn your pump on. Turn on all faucets, one at a time including any outside faucets, until it runs pink, depending on size of trailer, 2 gallons should be enough.
My Lights Won't Work: This is a fairly common question, and a fairly easy one for people who are new to using a camper. All your lights have a Switch on them, some have a EXTRA switch on the wall. If your wont come on, check to see if theres a wall switch, turn it on, then move the switch on the light itself. If it doesn't come on, check the bulbs, then check for a blown fuse in the Converter/Breaker box. If those check out good, then you may have other issues. You can hook a battery charger up to your battery, and if that makes your lights work, then you may have a bad converter, you can use this until you can get a new one. otherwise, consult an RV Dealer to Diagnose the problem.
My water Heater won't Light: This could be one of several problems, If it lights and goes out, it could be a dirt daubers nest inside the main tube, use a flashight to check it. Use a long tool to remove it. If it lights, and sounds funny, but still burns; it could be air, but after a few minutes, and it still sounds same, you may have a spiders nest in the burner tube. In that case, use a 12 inch piece of wire, and run it through the burner tube to remove it. Now, if it strikes and won't light, it could be a bad board. If it won't Strike at all, then you may need a new striker. These are the most common things, Otherwise consult your local RV Dealer.
My Furnace won't Light: The most common problem is a dirt daubers nest, (if you don't have a screen); in that case, just remove the unit, take it out of the metal casing, using a rubber mallet, hit all four sidea, then shaking the unit back and forth, dumping the nests out. Before re-installing the unit, you can check it. Use a regulater, and a propane tank, hook the two smaller wires together, (usually blue), then hook the other two to a battery, (using a volt meter, check your wiring to see which one is hot before removing the unit, as sometimes it may be red, white or yellow). then hook up the corrasponding wires as needed to give your unit the correct voltage. If it works, then just re-connect it. If not, and it strikes but does'nt light, you may have a bad board. If it won't strike at all, pull the striker out, and re-check, and if then it won't stike, you prolly need a new striker. But if it does strike, then check for dirt daubers nests inside where the Striker is assembled. Otherwise, consult an RV Dealer for proper Diagnoses.
My Converter Went Out, and I'm on a Trip: Hook a battery Charger to your Battery, (usually on Trickle charge); unless you need more lighting, then just bump the charge up. Untill you get to an RV Dealer and can get a new one.
